Ideal Candidate for Teeth Whitening
Who is a good candidate for laser teeth whitening or home teeth bleaching treatment procedures.
Teeth whitening with laser, L.E.D based, cool light, blue light or with home teeth whitening trays, strips or with teeth bleaching kits is a low-risk procedure and therefore it is suitable for a wide range of patients.
Candidates who are looking for teeth whitening typically have mild to moderate discoloration and they want to achieve a sparkling smile.
However, there are certain factors that may preclude patients from being good candidates for treatment. These include:
- Patients with fabrications or restorations on the front facing teeth (such as porcelain veneers, dental crowns, or dental bonding) :: Unlike natural teeth, restorative material does not respond to bleaching agents. Typically, if these patients do choose teeth whitening, they will also need to replace their restorations. The new crowns or veneers will match the enhanced colour of their smile.
- Patients with intrinsic stains :: Intrinsic stains are grey discolorations, white spots on the teeth, or discoloration that results from a “dead” tooth. These stains affect the underlying layers of the tooth. In general, teeth whitening is most effective on extrinsic stains (the yellow or brown stains) that affect the outer enamel. However, new cool light blue L.E.D based laser teeth whitening treatment procedures can target both extrinsic and intrinsic stains.
- Patients with extreme tooth sensitivity or worn enamel :: Whitening may exacerbate these conditions.
- Patients with bruxism or temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD) :: Whitening trays may worsen these conditions. If patients with these health concerns wish to lighten their smiles, they may be better candidates for in-office whitening.

I travelled to India to see Dr Amit & Dr Vandana after doing some research around on the internet in regard to what dental treatment options. I had. I desperately needed a lot of treatment as my dental health was in a very poor state and really needed whatever was necessary to get my dental health back and also get my confidence back in terms of smiling. I could not have chosen a better place & better people. As soon as I arrived in Delhi it was attention from day one. During the time I was with them, their treatment was very human and they made you feel welcome every time I went to see them. I wanted to get my smile back and for this, they did a series of studies of my mouth such as digital x-rays for them to visualize their plan of action. They found that I needed a root canal and the experienced was fantastic. During the treatment, I did not feel any pain whatsoever. They also did some artificial bone implantation as I lost bone during my early years of mouth neglect but they did a fantastic job with this & I got zirconia metal free dental crowns that made me look 10 years younger. I would definitely not hesitate to go to this fantastic dentist clinic. They are extremely professional and caring on what they do. I wish them the best with the clinic and I would not hesitate to come back to them if needed to in the future. They are now like family to me.

My experience with Delhi Dental Center (DDC) has been very satisfying. The clinic has advanced machinery like 360 degree dental x-ray machine, hand held x-ray machine apart from other regular/ sophisticated tools & machinery. Both the doctors here are well experienced and knowledgeable. Hygiene is given utmost importance here. After the recent epidemic, they have further raised the bar with regard to hygiene protocols.
